Our Limestones
Varieties
Limestone is a sedimentary rock composed largely of calcium carbonate. While usually white in color, impurities such as iron oxide may give it a more yellow, brown or red hue, while carbon may make it black, gray or blue. Skeletons of marine invertebrates from the Lower Crustaceous period may also characterize some limestones.
As a result, a degree of variation in color and fossil density is to be expected, and it is this variation that distinguishes natural quarried limestone from its less nuanced, synthetic counterparts.
Please contact us for samples. We also have a range of limited edition stones, so please let us know if you don’t see what you’re looking for.

Finishes
We offer our limestones in five different finishes, each enhancing the natural beauty of the stone in a dramatically different fashion. Roughback and split-face finishes are available in 2” thick limestone veneer panels.
Please note, as may be seen in the photo below, there can be considerable variation in the texture and color of our roughback finishes as it is the natural surface of the limestone ledge.
